Janine Graham became a Christian in 1983 after a long struggle with a lack of confidence & self-worth, issues which had led her into some unhealthy situations. However, she felt blessed when she came to faith and was totally ‘born again’ through the grace of Jesus Christ. God turned her around and she felt real unconditional love for the first time

Therefore 25 years later after running her own specialist hairdressing business, bringing up her family, and then retraining and working as an art teacher, Janine felt it was important to give back to God using the gifts and skills she had, so she approached Grace Trust with a proposal to start an Art Group for marginalised people who could not express themselves vocally and who needed to grow in confidence in their own abilities. Art in the Park was born.

In 2012 Janine was widowed with her beloved husband Ian ‘going home’. Art in the Park and Grace Trust helped her through her grief, so it was during this period that Janine felt her experiences may be of further benefit to Grace Trust, as a Trustee. The previous 10 years of leading Sunday services at HMP Le Moye also informed this decision.

Janine feels that her role within the Trustees is to bring innovative ideas and objectives for the growth of Grace Trust Charity, whilst her personal experiences give her a deep understanding of the needs of struggling people of all social groups.
